“Two days are prominent in the life of
every man, the day he is born and the day he understands WHY”, MARK TWAIN. Just like every other men,
I know the day I was born, and I always see it as a special day, another day I
cherish was the very day I discovered myself and the purpose behind my
existence, though it did not happen the first fifteen years of my life. But
today, I can beat my chest that I now understand the “why” behind my existence.
I have found a clear definition to my existence. Just as I have said earlier, I
did not have the understanding of the reason behind my existence throughout the
first decade of my life, it was at the close of my second decade on earth that I
realized I was not just on this side of life to merely add to its population. Though
it seems so long before I had the privilege of discovering the reason behind my
existence, but when I heard the pathetic story of an old man, I realized I had
discovered myself earlier enough, the old poor man did not find out why until
he was seventy five years, he was just doing things the way he saw others doing
it, as if he discovered late, but is it not better to be late than never? While there are some who never discovered
theirs throughout their life span, this means they lived amiss throughout their
days on earth.
Looking at life as it is, everything has
its purpose and definition, nearly every subject has a definition, a meaningful
one indeed known to all, every object on the surface of the earth has one or
two usefulness, according to the discoveries of man, one of the best tool that
can be used to fasten a nail into the wood is the hammer, if not for the
existence of the wool, clothes will not have surfaced, the cell phone we carry
about today have promoted effective communication, irrespective of distance
condition and the emergence of the internet, the development of social media
and network have as well contributed to the rapid development of our global
world, we live in a more convenient world today than in the previous
generations, the major secret behind this is that there are more innovations,
discoveries and understanding to so many “whys”.
On the other hand, failure to discover
the reason behind ones’ existence will cause the world a tremendous setback
because several generations will suffer, have you ever imagined this? If the world
had not developed to the extent where we transport through the air, do you know
that many fate would have been at stake? Indeed it is good to discover ones’
purpose, for without this, how will one live life comfortably to its fullest.
Today, if I have not discovered the
writing potential in me, you won’t have had the privilege of reading this particular
piece, and if it would come, it would have been from another channel, this
is because inspirations comes from God
through various available channels. Mark Twain wrote about two great days in the
life of men as the day of birth and the day he or she comes to understand fully
the WHY behind his birth, that is, realizing the reason behind ones’ existence,
no one is born without a particular and spectacular reason. To him, it is not
the day of birth and the day one buys a car, some people owns a car or more,
but are yet to discover the why of their existence, it is not the day of birth
and the day of graduation, I have seen a graduate of Physics Education, who
later went back to study Law when he discovered himself afterwards, He ended up
becoming one of the greatest legal practitioner of his time, it is not the day of birth and the day of
wedding, there are couples who are living amiss today, despite getting married
honourably, that is why you in particular must not just live your life as some
set of people lived theirs but as you should live it, because you have
generations to affect.
Have you discovered the WHY behind your
existence? I must inform you that you can’t’ live your life anyhow because it
will amount to nothing but a waste of precious opportunities. I need to inform
you that before you can get the understanding to the WHY of your life, you must
have a connection with your creator, because only by him alone you can discover
what you are created to live for. For I know the thoughts that I think toward
you, said the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected
end. Jeremiah 29:11, since He created you, he has the roadmap to your
fulfillment, he has the manual of your existence with him, thus without him,
you will not find a meaningful way to maximize your life. Men who succeed in
life are those who affiliate themselves with their creator, those who relate
with God through his only begotten son Jesus, those who know him as their Lord
and Savior, it is not too late to discover your existence through him, it is
done in steps, start with the following steps, you can start seeking his face
now in the place of prayer, confess your sins, repent of those sins, make your
ways perfect before him and ask him to help you live your life the way he wants
you. Then and only then you can find a true definition to your existence, only
then you will have the true understanding of the reason why you are formed in
his own image and have yourself a good life, may you never live amiss and be
guilty of your existence in Jesus name (Amen).
