FLEE YOUTHFUL LUST

Flee also youthful lust, but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart, 2^nd Timothy 2:22.

Lust remains one of the forces contending the innocent youths of this generation, indeed it is more or less a cankerworm which has eaten deeply into the lives of many youths to an extent that they have become so helpless in the situations which remain unfavourable. To be factual, a lot of young men and women though are not comforted yet they find it difficult to get themselves free from various lust they engage in.

Paul was seen admonishing his son in the Lord, young timothy to flee from youthful lust because he knew the dangers that lie therein, no wonder, we can’t doubt the fact that the young men and women of those days faced the same challenges, we are facing today, and they saw the decay we are seeing all round today.

Lust is a very strong desire for something, this means lust is not limited to youths, it also applies to children and adults, more specifically the passage speaks of youthful lust, this is because the youthful stage is one that is highly crucial as a result of various forces that and individual has to contend with at this particular stage in life unlike other stages, when the passion becomes low towards nearly everything.

However, inspire of the  contending forces the financial lust, emotional lust and material lust which today’s youths will have to face, God Almighty in his infinite mercy and loving kindness has made some ways of escape for willing youths, No wonder, Joseph was able to swim against the powerful tide of sexual lust in the house of Potiphar. Since we are not ignorant of the fact that youthful lust wages war against our souls, we were admonished in the book of 1^st peter 2:11 thus “Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against thy soul” from this portion of the scripture we understand that these fleshly lust are stubbornly clinging to our hearts as a result of our habitations and the kinds of company we cling to, this is a very good reason why we were admonished to “flee” from youthful lust, to flee from youthful lust is not just the literal running, it is an attitude, this deals with physical and emotional actions towards every form of lust, apart from fleeing from such environments and  companions ,one must also resist every thought and feelings that has to do with youthful lust.

After fleeing youthful lust, one cannot stay alone, so as to avoid spiritual loneliness. Therefore, one must follow righteousness, which is a passion for justice and a life pleasing to God, also, faith, a strong and welcome conviction and trust in God, as well as love; a benevolent affection towards God and man and Peace which is a tranquillity in the heart with God almighty and all men

   Finally, we were admonished to run together and not alone with all other brethren who call upon God from their pure hearts, we must run with fellows companions, we must not reject brethren who fear God, like the words of that psalmist, who says he is a companion of all who fears the lord.

Dearly beloved reader, have you now seen the laid down principles of God on how helpless youth like you can flee from youthful lust, oh? Or you think you are free from youthful lust, when you are already entangled to various lust affairs that you think is love, let me tell you, you are not free until you are sexually pure, hear the book of Proverbs 6:5, Deliver thyself as a roe from the hand of the hunter, and as a bird from the hand of fowler. Don’t you know you are a prey, if you are still under the bondage of lust? Remember the mighty Samson, who met his untimely death on the beautiful laps of Delilah, don’t forget Tamar and Amnon, don’t forget Dinah, the beautiful daughter of Jacob, they were all young men and women as you are, or are you free from sexual lust, then hope you are not entangled to financial lust? Don’t forget Judas, remember the outcome of Gehazi’s material lust, are you free?

If you are not free you can be free today, if you can profess like Job 31 vs1 I made a covenant with mine eyes, why then should I think upon a maid? , and pray to stand by it, you can be stable like Joseph while in Egypt, you can stand out like Daniel did in Babylon, if you can flee youthful lust and follow peace. May the good Lord strengthen your soul as you determine to stay pure for your creator in this perverse generation in Jesus name (Amen).

THE OFFER OF SIN

WHAT SIN CAN OFFER?

            Though to some this title may seem incorrect, but it is not, as a reader, one may simply think that the writer will simply put it as “what sin cannot offer”, but the major purpose of writing on this topic is to make known to all who wish to know some offers of sin. According to the book of Proverbs 1:10, my son, if sinners entice thee, consent thou not. Going by the word used in this passage, it could be discovered from this passage that it is possible that there are some pleasures in sin, with which one could be enticed. Therefore, there are some things that sin itself can offer, to those who choose sin, sincerely, there are certain things that sin can offer which you wish to know.

            Since it is no longer a secret that sin is the most accepted commodity in the world today, what is this sin itself, simply put, sin is any unrighteousness, 1^st John 5:17 informs us that “all unrighteousness is sin, sin can also be simply said to be any disobedience act to the Lord. However, what has make sin widely accepted is some of the features of sin that seems to be an advantage, there are so many advantage that a sinner derive from his or her sinful ways, there are various pleasures that sinners see as gain, some of the things that is counted as gain, Apostle Paul spoke concerning some things which though were good yet he had detest them, Philippians 3:7-8, But what things were gain to me, those I counted but loss for Christ. Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ. This particular portion of the scripture informs us that there are some things which were good as option but were not so expedient for him, he was telling us some things that sin can offer him yet which he had counted but loss, he was giving us the idea of how sin seems to be pleasing and appealing, if you want to know some so called pleasures of sin, you can beckon on those who have stolen what does not belong to them something precious to someone, either they already have it or not, here we have people who if peradventure they have got such a thing before, they will tell you they now have two, but if they do not have such a thing before, they will inform you that they now have the particular thing, can we say that is not a good offer from sin? Not only this, you can also walk crosswise to a prostitute who will also tell you how she have acquired her wealth through her profitable prostitution, are these and many more not part of the many profit that sin too can offer? But are these only those things that the sin can as well offer? If No, then what other things?       

We learn from the scripture that the wages of sin is death and that the gift of God eternal life through Christ Jesus our lord. However, can we conclude we have not got the outcome of sin? This is to tell us that sin do not only offer things that a pleasure alone, sin do not make you rich, it is far beyond that, sin do not only make one more influential, these is also well out of it, we must know that Sin also offers death,

 May the good lord help us to stand out of sin as a good soldier of the most high God, finally the lord is vigorously searching out for his end-time soldiers and i gladly tell you that you are not left out, you can be enlisted into God’s army, Are you ready? He is waiting, come to Him.

ESCAPE!!!

Raymond, Bob, Lanrie, Jenny, Jeffrey, Tarqa, and Phils went to explore a land on the western axis of their Nation, to them, the area was a prosperous zone, it was an area where the economic growth is vast and encouraging, civilization was high there, and with the presence of several social amenities, the attention of young men and women were drawn to the land, this in turn, brought about time to time increase in the population of the land.

Such was the team of these seven young men and women, the team comprised of five male and two female, they were having the same thought and they were nearly of the same age range, Raymond was the oldest and the captain of the clique, they came to the land to make money through the use of their potentials, to set up establishments since the place had become a centre of commerce, but upon all the fact they had gathered concerning the land, upon the vast knowledge that they have about the land, it was unknown to the clique of the young promising men and women that the zone was a dangerous zone, a zone which had earlier been declared a danger zone to the dwellers of the land.

Soon after the group of young men got to the land, they started establishing their business, building their business empire and expanding it throughout the coast of the land, they became so rich and were soon declared to be among the strongest and the wealthiest men and women of the land. They all got married to the sons and daughters of the land and began to give birth; they increased from seven to twenty nine as time goes on.

Exactly ten years after they came to settle in the land, they received the news informing them of what they have never learnt about the land, the land been a danger zone and the doom awaiting the land, it was indeed a sad news to them, but only a few of them believed the tale. This news did not stop their activities though; they were increasing their structures, as well as enlarging the coast of their business empire.

One day, the impending danger loomed a portion of the wealthy land, several lives were lose, a lot of costly properties, as well as other precious things were missed as a result of a great earth quake which struck a little portion of the land, Alas! the impending danger had started looming gradually; death, loss, and several damage struck the land. Upon this, several investors were now diverting their great wealth from the territory to a more safe area, several companies were sold, assets were disposed and a large population migrated from the great commerce centre.

To the clique, it had now become so clear that the long time fable is not a fantasy but a fact, but only a few of them were moved by the incident, only one family out of the seven received their share and migrated from the land to a more safe area which was not a danger zone, but to the rest of the clique, they saw the incident as an opportunity to increase their firm, several assets were added to their assets, they invested in more by buying from those who migrated and sold their companies as a result of the migration, to the clique, the ugly incidence was an opportunity to attain more wealth.

As soon as Jeffery left the zone together with his family of three, another calamity struck the land, this time around, it was far than the previous quake, half of the land were casualty of the calamity, millions of the wealthy men and women in the land lost their lives to the incident and several investments worth of billions collapsed, this time unlike before, one of the family of the clique were among the casualties of the mysterious incident, Bob and his family of four lost their lives. Upon this, it became more clearer to the clique family that they were not in a placate zone, yet because of the great investment they had in the land, many of them did not even nurse the ambition of vacating the land, only a few number of them left, the families of Lanrie and her husband together with their two year old boy left the land as soon as the calamity struck, Phils and his wife as well as two children were not left out too, they took their own share of the joint business and vacated the land. But the rest of the family did not change their heart, they did not only love to stay more in the land, but their fast growing enterprise and the firm business empire, their properties as well as the beauty of the land caught their attention.

So time flew to become days, and days became weeks, weeks in turn metamorphosed into months, and several months passed, living the land in peace as if to give time for the bereaved of the previous quake to be mourned and those who ran into several loss to regain their loss, until one day when the long proclaimed prophesy about the land came to pass, on the bright morning of a woeful Wednesday, the third day of the week, in the seventh month of that particular year, calamity again struck the land, but this time, it took an unusual form, the whole portion of land sank as a result of an incredible earthquake, properties were lose, lives perished, and the entire population of the land became history, they ended up in the mystifying mishap, not only this, not a single empire was spared and the long preserved assets were out of sight, no man was left, to mourn another, as everything were out of sight.

Indeed! Just like the seven clique, we are all in a danger zone, though there are lots of empires as well as assets, but the world is awaiting a looming danger, the world is not a comfort zone, only those who can escape for their precious souls will not be part of the danger, destruction awaits the world of man, only those who will act like Jeffrey, Lanrie, and Phils will escape the looming danger. Are you ready to take step and escape from the looming danger? Or you want to stay long here and act foolishly like those four members of the clique who perished in the land. The only escape route is Jesus, the only begotten son of God, to pass through him, confess your sins, repent of your sinful ways, invite Jesus into your life, let him take control of your life, let him be your Lord and Saviour and start living a new life in Christ. Don’t wait till tomorrow, it may be too late, it is only when you are alive that you can make your ways right, Jesus cannot save a sinner who is in hell, but he can save a sinner while he is still on earth, He can save you. May you not perish in Jesus name (Amen).

PREPARE FOR YOUR FUTURE

Life is a preparation for the future, and the best preparation for the future is to live as if there were none, Albert Einstein, while Sir William Osler says that the best preparation for tomorrow is to do today’s work superbly well. Going by what both men were pointing at here, we will conclude that thorough preparation for ones future brings about a positive future. However, one must understand when the future is, at this juncture what one should have in mind is that when do I start preparation for the Future? To some the future seems to be far, to some the future is ten years to them, some think their future is when they get married and finally settle down, can we now agree with this? The answer is simply NO, We must understand that the future is not far and as a result of this the preparation for the future must not be later than now, preparation for the future should not be later than now, because a life which is void of purpose will not suddenly be purposeful. While many youth think their future is far from them, I believe that the future is in us, this is simply because the future resides in the mind, the future is what you think about the next crack of dawn, therefore there must be preparation for the future and it must be now.

Dear reader, have you started preparing for your future? Don’t forget that it is what you prepare for that does not catch you unaware, don’t allow your future to catch you unaware, start your preparation now, what are those preparations that you need so that you won’t get stranded when you finally gets to the future, do you need skill? Hurry now and get skill, you can acquire skill in any skill acquisition centre, your age is never a barrier to get yourself a good skill that will help to add value to your future, We are here to add what we can to life, not to get what we can from life, says Sir William Osler, you are on earth to add value to life, your footprint must be seen on the sands of time, when you finally pass away from this scene, acquire all the skills that you will need to achieve it now,  before you finally gets  to the future, it is a part of the preparation  that you will need for the future.

          Are you skilful in an area already, then you need knowledge, when I talk about getting knowledge, it is not necessarily between the four walls of a classroom, attend places where you can be impacted, even if not in the classroom, get wisdom. Get books and read, be an addicted reader, a reader always knows beyond the things in his vicinity, read very well, so that you will be relevant in the future, it is never too late to acquire wisdom, your age is not a barrier, i know a popular artist who graduated with first degree at an old age with one of his sons, He proceeded to bag his masters degree and his PhD, Today, this man is a professor in his field, this man achieved because, he was not contented with his particular position then, he improved himself and was never the same. Don’t think you are alright with what you have already acquired, there are places ahead that you can fit in.

          Get connected now, before the future finally comes, there are some peoples that you need to meet before you finally arrive at the future, try and get connected, it is a part of the preparation for the future, invest in relationship, learn from others, pair with visionary men and women who you believe they will be of help to you, all these are parts of your preparation, thereafter, let God know your plans, so that He may guide you through, cling yourself to God Almighty, He is the architect of your life, He owns the master plan of the future, and you must know that you need him to cope.

          Dear young man, it is a sin to fail to prepare, because the lack of preparation results to preparing a bed of failure, You must not fail, start your preparation now, start gathering yourself up for the cost of the preparation, I want to assure you that once you have prepared, the future is bright for you, the sky is never the limit, it is the starting point for another phase, some people have been to that place, you too can be there, prepare for your future, remain strong.
