STOLEN WATERS
Stolen waters are
sweet, and bread eaten in secret is pleasant. prov.9:17
In a generation like this, where the
Devil had succeeded in blindfolding nearly everyone about the dangers in extra
marital or pre-marital sexual affair, I feel sad and bothered about the care
free act of many so called Christians, who did not even care about the dangers
in this act. Sincerely, there are good number of people who still keep
themselves pure and chaste even in a generation like this, but to all those who
are casualties of this sexual immorality, married or single, I want to share
with you the certain dangers that are involved in the act. In the book of
Proverbs 9:17, we were made to understand that stolen waters are sweet, and the
bread eaten in secret is pleasant, what a picture we are made to see here;
telling us about the mindset of the young men and women of this noble
generation, this portion of the scripture made me to agree with some youth’s perspective about pre-marital
sex, remember it is no other thing than the stolen waters that we were told
about here, and since we are made to understand that it is sweet, then so it
is. It is a bread eaten in secret too, because, those who practice this
immorality do not practice it openly, they do it behind the curtains, some do
it without the knowledge of their Parents, some do it without the knowledge of
their Pastors, some practice it without the knowledge of their Mentors, (those
who have mentors), so it is indeed a stolen water, it is no other thing than a
bread eaten in secret.
But may I ask, how satisfactory have
you been since you have started drinking this stolen water? Do you think your thirstiness for it had been
quenched so far since you have been drinking it? Have you ever stop to think of
this? This so called pleasant bread, how satisfied have you been since you have
been risking your integrity feeding on it? It seems you now realize what it is
to steal waters so as to quench your thirstiness, or eat secret breads, because
you feel you are hungry? May I also inform you of an impending danger, so as to
create a means of escape for yourself, stolen
waters are sweet and bread eaten in
secret is pleasant, But he know not that the dead are
there; and that her guests are in the depths of hell. Prov. 9:17-18. Oh! Do you now realize how dangerous the stolen water seems
to be, despite its sweetness, do you realize how deadly this same pleasant
bread is, have you ever considered the story of Reuben, the first born among
the sons of Israel, do you remember the consequence of eating the stolen bread
in his life? Do you even bear in mind, the ugly end of Samson, a powerful young
judge, who was trapped on the appealing laps of Delilah, a strange woman, I
want you to think about the life of Amnon, the son of King David, who met his
untimely death as a result of the stolen water, as if that is never enough,
don’t forget about the ugly end of Shechem as well as that of Dinah, how many
are we to point, even in this contemporary world, I think you now know that
there is a need for you to make a rightful turn around a seek a way of escape,
pre-marital sex is a deadly game that you should not dare, if you have dared
it, then you must make a rightful turn
around now and make a strong determination in
your heart, that you will never indulge in such deadly act again, my
prayer is that the almighty God will help you to stand firm on what you have determined (Amen).
Friend, shun pre-marital sex, it
is like eating an unripe fruit, say No to it, as a married man or woman, I
think you know the dangers of extra marital sex? It is a deadly game, played at
the expense of one’s precious life, you are too precious to miss your beautiful
future, you are too precious to lose your life to the devil, do not negotiate
with the Devil, you too can as well FLEE YOUTHFUL LUST!!!
